Deep, dark ruby-red colour with tinges of brick as well as purple. The bouquet has a creosote, and barbecued meat overtones, from a long time in wood. Cocoa powder and malt as well. Attractive development. The wine is full-bodied and very soft, fleshy and supple, easy on the gums and cuddly, if not that detailed or compelling in its flavours. Deep-buried plums as well. This drinks well now and could reward a little cellaring.
